With the outbreak of the swine flu things seem to be heating up from this morning till tonight. More deaths in Mexico has everyone worried wondering how far and fast this infection will travel. This morning on the news 103 people had reportedly died in Mexico from the swine flu and this evening on Yahoo news it jumped to 149 deaths. Google is actually tracking the flu outbreak on a map which you can check out here.
Twitter has also been very busy today with tweets of whats happening with the swine flu. It has been said that there is a lot of propaganda going on with the micro blogging site. False information has been circulating and causing panic with the tweets. No one seems to know where they are getting their information from but it is causing people to worry.
Schools in the United States have been closed due to students coming down with this flu and being concerned about passing it on to others. A school in New York state have closed their doors for a week. Texas has also done the same but they are only closing their schools for a couple of days.
Mexico seems to think this outbreak occurred from waste and pollution of a huge pig farm down there. They have been protesting the way things are being handled and was worried something like this would happen. The Government stated that about half of Mexico is already infected and it is traveling quickly all around the world. The military in Mexico has distributed more than 6 million face masks to its citizens so far.
Looking closely at Googles map it seems most of the world has had reported cases of the swine flu. Technology has made the world very small with airplanes and you can be on one continent one minute and the next be landing on another.Bringing with you the germs you had and the germs picked up on the closed flight.
This outbreak has sparked new concerns from around the world at how to stop this from turning into a pandemic. Without grounding our planes and closing our cities the out come seems grim. How far will everyone let this one go? How long before they decide it may be time to let everyone stay where they are until this is all over.
This morning on the news President Obama stated we could be concerned but not to worry because they have things under control. Do you believe the Government and what they are saying? To be honest I do not. I do not think they would give all of us citizens the reality of the situation for worry of everyone panicking. From experience with the Government they seem to only tell us as much as they thing they have to. Who knows maybe they are being honest for a change, but I personally am not going to take any chances.
The CDC released information that if you or anyone you know have visited Mexico lately then you should be seen by a doctor. Also if you are having flu type symptoms then you also should be seen by a doctor.
Lets hope things get under control sooner than later.

a very informative article, well scripted. excellent!
Linda,
I am very worried about this flu, esp since my daughter has a weak IS. I was watching the news today and the cases are rising daily. So, be careful everyone. Wash hands, cover mouth, etc..
Good article Linda, it’s impossible to know if we are safe and difficult to believe what we are being told …
Now it has arrived in our country, though the people who have it are not very ill. I don’t think it can be contained. We are going to have to take great care and ride it out. An informative article.
