On March 12, 2008, there was a shooting at a bank in Fernwood, Mississippi.

A gunman fired inside a bank right after confronting his former wife inside it. The gunman kidnapped his former wife and killed her, then dumps her body off onto the road. Right after killing his former wife, the gunman shot himself in his head. The killing left four people dead, including the gunman.

The incident a domestic dispute. The gunman, Robert Lanham, killed a male customer, James Fredrick Fayard, and male employee, Ronnie Larrimore.

Along U.S. Highway 51 near Ferwood, almost five miles from the bank where the shooting took place, Rachel Lanham’s body was found along side the road.
