Bp Wrote Cap and Trade. Plot Thickens

If you haven’t already read about this…hold on, strap in and get prepared to be furious.

BP is a friend of President Obama. They have supported him not only through campaign donations but also through some of his now notorious legislation and impending legislation. BP loves lobbying. If it helps them, they are all over it. Senator John Kerry has also been an active participant in the BP lobbying love affair. BP is not just an oil drilling company, they are an energy company. Oil is only a part of it. They stand to benefit from Cap and Trade.

BP helped write Cap and Trade, according to Senator Mitch McConnell. You can be sure they wouldn’t be so involved if it wasn’t going to benefit them in some manner.

Some crazy things happened in February. One of those crazy things is the beginning of the BP Gulf oil spill. Yes, that is correct. BP and MMS knew about the oil well failing back in February. In case you missed it, check out my article about that:

So, what other crazy things happened in February? Well, this is when BP officially exited U.S. Climate Action Partnership (USCAP). What is USCAP? USCAP is dedicated to passing Cap and Trade. It was partly founded by BP. In February, BP mysteriously disassociated themselves from USCAP. So very strange, isn’t it?

What else happened right before the oil spill? Well, that is when Tony Hayward (BP CEO, who loves yachting) sold 1.4 million worth of his shares in BP stock. Who else dumped BP stock then? So glad you asked. None other than Goldman Sachs. They dumped 44% of their BP holdings only weeks before the the Deepwater Horizon burst into flames, and caused the worst oil spill in U.S. history. Also worth mentioning, USB Bank sold 98% of their BP stock, Wachovia sold 97%, while Wells Fargo (who’s parent company is Wachovia) snatched up 2.3 million shares. ALL of these things happened before Deepwater Horizon blew up, but after they knew about the well cracking, in February. Funny how things work out, isn’t it?

Cap and Trade is being pushed for vote before July 4th. They are using an oil spill disaster that they all had insider information about, which they lied about and then profited on from lying, to pass the largest tax in American history. Are we having fun yet?

One of my favorite sayings is very fitting for this situation…If you’re not outraged, you’re not paying attention!
