The California-based company’s latest attempt to cool down the riot between contributing authors and site management has not had a soothing effect. HubPages recently claimed improvements had been put in place for sharing Google ad revenue. Paul Edmondson, HubPages Co-Founder and CEO, stated the following on one of his threads.

The company is getting close to putting out a new ad layout that should improve earnings for authors while creating more separation of ads from the content.

For authors, the most significant change is there will be a 728X90 above the title and the 468X60 (under the title) will be removed along with one link unit.  We will be monitoring earnings closely and believe this will be good for authors and readers.

We will continue to watch this tweak and may make more changes in the near future.  We’ll keep you posted.

Users of this failing site responded with, but far from limited to, the following.

  • Hope it helps cause things are really sinking fast. Traffic and CTR are really suffering.
  • Was just going to say that it seems to be getting worse! google.com traffic is almost non existent now!
  • Just caught up with this thread.  I find the conversation interesting, because for me, my Amazon is doing about the same as before, it is my Adsense and Ebay that have nosedived compared to before.  I am systematically lowering the amount of items in my product capsules however, in most of them, I am just giving my readers specific choices of items that I am discussing in my hub.  I almost never use news capsules at all, and use link capsules to link to related hubs primarily.
  • Just noticed that the layout is different, when a person inquires our hubs/sites now.  It doesn’t seem to look as professional, and our site pictures don’t show up…when you press hub inquiry?  Hopefully it is all for the betterment of the writer?  Be looking for the changes you mentioned:)

Perhaps the technical crew at HubPages might consider taking a Google Adsense for Content course so the management can stop fooling their user base about how hard this technology is to implement on a web site.

Now Edmondson Co-Founder and CEO of Hub Pages, continues to give blind excuses why the search engines ignore or do not respond to Hub Pages. Simple the site acts and looks to search engines like a scraping site. Technically the structure and SEO value of the site is a mess.

For example I think most readers understand a little about site maps. Type this in the old web browser. http://hubpages.com/sitemap.xml and you get this, “That page doesn’t exist”.

Soon what will be the fact for HubPages.com
