Christina Aguilera Messes U.s. National Anthem

Maybe it’s the recent reports of her drinking or it’s something that is (almost) natural in occuring as not only American performers tend to mess up their national anthems when asked to perform live.

With the horrendous weather U.S. is experiencing, again (almost), anything can go wrong anyway.

Belting out “What so proudly we watched” instead of “What so proudly we hailed” Christina Aguilera, 30, the Burlesque star, with her big voice still managed to smile and execute a cute bye wave to the crowd after her goofed-up U.S. National Anthem rendition before the start of the NFL Super Bowl XLV.

Take note that she did hold the last note for “brave” for six seconds, considered quite short for her vocal range, in her trademark growl for a try for a dramatic finish.

The pint-sized 5′2” mother of one has already a Hollywood Walk of Fame star, four Grammies, a Latin Grammy and fifteen nominations under her belt in her career that is spanning a mere 20 years. She is 58th in Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Singers of All Time and follows Madonna as the second top selling single artist of the 2000s.
