Joseph Rusin, an American eighty-seven year old man, has died because his clothes caught fire. Joseph was riding his bicycle while smoking, when suddenly his nylon jacket caught fire.

A FedEx deliverer witnessed the incident, and saw that Rusin was fighting for his life.

The deliverer decided to help. Rusin rolled himself over the ground. In the meantime, the FedEx deliverer took a fire extinguisher from his delivery truck and rushed back to the burning man to put out the fire.

Rusin was making his way back home from a local grocery store in Bethpage, Long Island, when it all happened. Firefighters report that the jacket may have caught fire either because of the burning cigarette, or a cigarette lighter that was in his jacket.

Rusin was taken to Nassau University Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
