Lorenzo Donnell Taylor, age 24, fled from Columbia Violent Gang Task Force agents who attempted to stop Taylor’s car. Taylor accelerated, struck a parked car and then fled on foot. Agents used a taser to stop Taylor and during a search of Taylor, agents found an ammunition clip and then recovered a 40-caliber pistol Taylor had thrown during the foot chase.
Taylor has previous state convictions for the following list of crimes:

As a convicted felon, Taylor was prohibited from carrying a firearm and was sentenced to 15 years in prison after he plead guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition in federal court.
The Columbia Violent Gang Task Force is comprised of FBI, ATF, Columbia Police Department, Richland County Sheriff’s Department, SLED and Project Ceasefire.
