Well… partially…
Just a few days after thousands of birds fell from the sky in Arkansas, some may have solved the mysterious catastrophe. Some researchers have claimed that the fireworks from New Years Eve caused the birds to fly lower than normal altitude, which may have caused them to fly into inanimate objects, trying to avoid the firework sparks. With the added stress of the festivities going on, the birds would have been already in a hiatus, adding to the number of red-winged black bird deaths.
Adding to the weird number of black bird deaths, hundreds of birds fell from the sky in Kentucky around the same time as the black birds in Arkansas. Grackles, Black Birds, Robins and Starlings were found dead in Murray Kentucky. 450 birds were found dead in Louisiana, claiming to be deaths from hitting cars and power lines.
Tests on the birds have shown that it was not illness or poison that caused the death of all these birds, but wildlife officials say mass bird deaths are not uncommon.
