Massachusetts State Senate Race Results
The results of the Massachusetts State Senate race.
The resulets are in, and Republican Scott Brown is the new senator of Massachusetts.
This puts the Republicans at an advantage of being at enough representation to nullify any Democratic legislation that passes over the table, as well as to regain ground on the Democratic state.
Marth Coakley, Brown’s Democratic opponnent, is a well-known ‘local’ celebrity for convicting a 19-year old of shaking an 8 month old baby boy to death.
This Republican win, however, may put a bit more stability back into the Massachusetts economy. Now with a new Republican senator, it will be ever more possible for Rebublicans to slow President Obama’s plans, especially his healthcare reform plan. The Democrats have now lost their 60 vote super-majority, which allowed them to outvote Republicans on anything that they wanted to pass.
This will hopefully bring a better balance to the Massachusetts system, and hopefully replace Senator Ted Kennedy well.
