About the past decade.
2000-2009 is a decade full of invention and technological advancement. This era included cheaper high definition televisions and mp3 players. The 2000-2009 era also included a wide range of music that has changed from 2000 to the present. Our decade will continue to advance until 2010-2010 when our decade will end and a new decade will begin.
The people in the 2000’s enjoy vacations. Dennis Anthony Tito, an American multimillionaire, was the first man to “vacation” in space. Dennis Anthony Tito paid twenty million dollars to board The International Space Station. The vast majority of Americans though, are not millionaires and therefore prefer to vacation on their own planet. Many people in the United States vacation in warmer areas such as Florida and California. Many times people visit theme parks, relax out in the sun, or visit landmarks.
Many people in the 2000-2009 era enjoy sports. Some people prefer playing sports while others would much rather watch them, either at the game or on television. Some sport achievements in the 2000’s included Usain Bolt setting the world record for the Olympic 100 meter, Michael Phelps winning eight Olympic Gold Medals, the most won by one person in the same sport, and Lance Armstrong winning the Tour de France seven times after having cancer. Some of the most popular sports in this era are football, lacrosse, soccer, and rugby.
Some people in the 2000’s entertained themselves with television or listening to music. Some examples of popular television shows include “Dancing with the Stars”, “Hannah Montana”, “High School Musical”, “Lost”, “Scrubs”, and “The Simpson’s”.
People in the 2000’s typically listen to metal, alternative, rock, rap, and hip hop type music. Some people listen to and dance at clubs, usually with their friends, or alone to meet new friends. Some of the artist people listened to included “The Jonas Brothers”, “Green Day”, “The Killers”, “Ozzy Osborne”, “Three Days Grace”, and “Avenged Sevenfold”.
Some people in the 2000’s entertain themselves with television. Younger audiences prefer watching shows such as “Dora the Explorer” and “Sponge Bob Square Pants”. Older audiences watch shows such as “Dancing with the Stars”, “House”, and “Scrubs”.
People rent movies and watch them at there house with friends, or go to another friend’s house to watch them. People also watch movies at a theatre. Some types of movies people watch includes horror, comedy, musicals, romances, and based on there favorite book such as “Harry Potter” written by J.K. Rowling, “Twilight” written by Stephanie Meyer and “The Lord of the Rings”by J.R.R. Tolkien. Some of the 21st century actors include Zac Effron, and Daniel Radcliffe who play in the “High School Musical” and “Harry Potter”.
In 2009 the first African-American president, Barrack Obama, was elected for president of the United Sates. Barrack Obama became the president on January 20, 2009.
The 2000’s is a decade of advancement in all sorts of things. Records are constantly being broke and historic events are in the making. The people of the 2000’s rely on technology for the majority of the things they do to entertain themselves. Many people would lose any way of entertainment without modern technologies.
