The video of the moon walk of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin gets fixed up.
On Thursday NASA restored the video footage of the Man’s first steps on the moon. 40 years ago this day Apollo 11 blasted off into space. Engineer Richard Nafger was in charge of the restoration project.
Neil Armstrong’s first step was the most degraded video Lowry Digital had to work with. The restored video has more detailed images of the first steps on the Moon’s surface.
Armstrong and Aldrin’s walk was filmed with a video camera that had a non-standard format so it couldn’t be directly broadcastd. NASA used a scan converter to change the images to TV standard format.
The restoration is continuing and may produce an even better video. The video is anticipated to be released in September according to NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Centre.
During the Moon walk one astronaut named Collins was left orbiting the Moon. Collins did not feel abandoned during this orbit.

gee, i wonder what NASA is going to do next (LIFE ON PLUTO).
I wonder how they managed to get all the parts of the video. Really cool though because now we will be able to watch the better version of the video. I hope they put it on TV when it comes out instead of leaking it on the internet.
