The latest in the ground beef recall of 2009.

Today, a Fresno beef company is recalling hundreds of ground beef products because the beef has been linked to being infected with salmonella, a disease that can cause fever, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and vomiting. All beef products with the label “EST. 31913” are to be recalled immediately, so if you have bought any ground beef in the past few days, please check the case code label to make sure that you won’t get sick.
The beef being recalled has been shipped to retail distributions in Arizona, California, Colorado and Utah.
USDA tells consumers to please check with the store they bought the beef from to determine if they’ve purchased the recalled beef.
Unfortunately, this report came to late for an unidentified person living in New Hampshire who ate the meat infected with E. coli and died this past Saturday. Schoolchildren and adults in Rhode Island and Plymouth Mass. also were also contaminated as well.
If you have bought any recalled beef the safest thing to do would to send it back to the retailer in which you’ve bought it from. Any reputable retailer should refund your money.
