Police say Jason Rodriguez, the main suspect of the shooting, has been taken into custody. 11/6/09.
Jason Rodriguez, a former employee of Reynolds, Smith & Hill, was arrested at the apartment owned by his mother according to the Orlando Police Department.
Rodriguez is the main suspect in a shooting which occurred at the Legions Place office building in the morning of November 6th, 2009. The shooting resulted in one confirmed death and reports of five wounded individuals.
The car Rodriguez was driving was seen at the Hollowbrook Apartments where Rodriguez’s mother lives. Police were able to apprehend Rodriguez at the apartment complex, and he was taken away without further incidents. According to statements who were at the police department, Rodriguez made the remark “they left me there to rot” as he was being brought in.
Rodriguez, a 40 year old man, was apparently fired from the engineering firm two years ago. Company representatives stated that Rodriguez was fired in June 2007 because his work was “deficient from the start.”
The firm is still trying to understand the motivation behind Rodriguez’s attack, and everyone is trying to cope with results from the tragedy.
