The bad news and bad pictures keep coming in…

We are 66 days into the worst oil spill in American history. 66 days ago, the BP leased, Transocean Deepwater Horizon rig exploded and burned off the coast of Louisiana. Things are getting worse by the minute. At first, it took awhile for the tar balls and oil to reach coasts. For the first month, Louisiana was where most of the damage was. Not anymore. The entire Gulf and the states that surround it are turning into a oiled mess.

Florida started having problems, in the panhandle, weeks ago. The problems basically consisted of tar balls washing on shore. This has continued and now the heavy goopy oil is starting to wash up. This is the kind of oil we have been seeing areas of Louisiana. I wrote an article about the sharks that are approaching the shores and I think it goes to show, that we need to keep a close eye on these animals. Not only to try to help and save them, but because they are a vital warning system. We are seeing nature give us warnings that our government refuses to. Here is my article about the sharks:

Here are some pictures from Pensacola Beach in Florida:

Florida saw its worst effect yet from the BP Plc oil spill as thick oily sludge washed ashore on Pensacola Beach. Emergency workers said the pudding-like mixture covered three miles (5 km) of the barrier island that is part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore.
