Ted Williams is back and so is poor Charlie Sheen, who just won’t go away, and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia makes the right call.

In Philadelphia, the Archdiocese has called to account those involved in improper behavior. Good ! One shouldn’t blame the Church for the deviant behavior of those who claim the cloth. It’s hiding, covering up the problem that casts a gray shadow on those who have devoted their lives to a higher calling. If there is sin, no matter the nature, it should be exposed and dealt with. Pretending it doesn’t happen is childish and dumb. “Be sure your sins will find you out,” is an old and true sayiing. The Church is not at fault for the disgrace of those members who falsely claim to follow Christ. Who can see into the mind of a fervent member who wants to undergo the isolation and training required of those who seemingly are willing to give their lives for the cause of Christ. We forget the Bible is filled with stories of those who actually talked with God, yet at times, went their own sinful way. Samson, Jonah, David and so many others fell short of what He wanted. Yet, they were forgiven and finally able to see God’s plan. The Church should always be on the lookout for such awful behavior and have plans in place to deal with such situations. They should have learned by now that looking away, pretending it didn’t happen is also a sin.
Ted Williams was on the Today Show this morning. He looks good and did well in the interview. But why won’t the media leave the poor guy alone. I have the feeling he is very vulnerable and should be left with the experts to sort things out. The dramatic and drastic change in his life would challenge anyone and he is without the crutches, booze and drugs, that so marked his life before becoming a sudden celebrity. There is a “do-good” aspect of the main stream media that seems willing to hold you up (if it’s a good story) and willing to bring you down which may be an even better story. They are not to be trusted; the story is EVERYTHING. Another guy they should leave alone is Charlie Sheen. Here we have a guy who is having a breakdown before our eyes and all the news folks and talk turkeys are doing is, at times, gloating. Disgraceful! But the news broadcaster of today are celebrities themselves and celebrity news is tops with most of them. It’s so sad that they pretend to have empathy for the downtrodden but their acts give them away as simply mean and small-minded.
