If so, when?

Today has been a very heavy day for news related to the Gulf oil disaster. Clean up workers are getting sick, all the while BP and the EPA claim there are no hazards to the health of people. Then the EPA and BP get busted using a banned chemical dispersant on the oil. Now, we have the first tropical storm of the season heading in…all points lead to possible evacuations…but when?

One thing is for sure, we can’t trust, rely or depend on our government, the EPA or the people responsible for this disaster to dictate when an evacuation should occur. The government has dropped the ball many times, most notably, Katrina. The EPA has a terrible record for telling the truth also. They claimed the air was clean on 911, at the site of the twin towers. We all know that many clean up crew members in NYC have died or developed respiratory diseases. And lets be honest, the government, BP and the EPA had to have known that the chemical dispersant’s BP has been using were banned. What about BP? Well, they caused this disaster and have been lying about things since day 1. Who does that leave to trust?

I suggest the residents of the Gulf Coast and Florida trust their own instincts. Don’t wait for anyone to tell you to get out of harms way. If you do, it will likely be too late. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
