Writing News Reporter for Beginners (Part I)

“When recruited, he understands and knows what it describes 5W1H and inverted pyramid, but after the story was written, I read it because the dizziness is not clear what he means,” said a journalist friend who had worked as an editor at a daily newspaper. “Then if he does not send the message, the reason being there are no interesting news to cover.”
Do not know the technique of writing the news well, and do not understand how to find a decent story-writing. I think this problem occurs in all parts of Indonesia, many newspaper experience. Moreover, the number of print media as more and more people actually called to be a journalist is a bit.

Tips on how to write a news # 1: Write the truth.

The fact must not be twisted. Opinions and interpretations should be written in a different paragraph. It may not neutral, but it should be independent.
Lying is a sin in the news toughest reporters. If the number of NGO activists demonstrate against the regent only dozens of people, do not write hundreds or thousands of people. False news like this very often appeared in local newspapers, especially regarding the election coverage.
If you must write an interpretation of a fact, write a separate paragraph, and show clearly to the reader so that they know which facts and opinions or interpretations which the journalist.
Reporter covering the story in the field should be independent of all parties related to the writing topic. Provide equal opportunities for all speakers to explain their version, not convicted of truth. Journalists may not neutral, for example, if I have to side with the people who are victims of oppression ruler, but should always be independent by providing the opportunity to speak to the authorities.

Tips on how to write a news # 2: Punctuation comma and inverted pyramid pattern.
Be careful using punctuation commas. If misplaced, the editors at the editorial office could misunderstand your report. “Amir hit, police arrested Budi” (a hit is the Amir, why even Budi arrested) is different meaning to “hitting Amir Budi, was arrested by police” (this is true, the arrest was Amir).
Writing regular news must be in inverted pyramid format. The most important thing at the very top; paragraphs below it, the less important. I often read the local news paper containing the names of the officials who attended a ceremony on the second or third paragraph, but the core message is precisely in the fifth paragraph or even towards the end.
