Crystal Police Officer and Another Person Sustain Injuries during Car Chase in Minnesota, Three Suspects Arrested

It was well past 10:00 p.m. Thursday when a call came in from the 6000 block of 56th Ave., North., Hennepin County dispatch said. The caller reported a threat case with a shotgun.

According to a press release, a Crytal Police officer who was closeby at the time of the call saw a vehicle drive away from the caller’s address. The police followed the vehicle seeing it matched provided descriptions by the caller.

The caller confirmed seeing the police follow the suspect’s vehicle.

While trying to pull the suspects’ car over, they fled. The police saw the suspects throw a shotgun that matched provided descriptions out of the car as they raced off.

The officer chased the suspect through Brooklyn Center. Eventually, he hit another vehicle driving on the same road. The Crystal police officer and the driver sustained injuries and were taken to an area hospital.

The suspects kept driving until their vehicle crashed in the 5700 block of Lyndale Ave., Minneapolis. With the help of Brooklyn Park K9 and a State Patrol helicopter, the police caught the three people who fled on foot after abandoning the crashed vehicle.

The three suspects are charged with offences relating to fleeing from police.
