Man Suffers Gunshot Injury Following Shooting at USANA Parking Lot

A 19-year-old man has been hospitalized following a shooting in a parking lot at the USANA Amphitheatre. Authorities say they are in search of one of the suspects.

The incident occurred around 6400 West and 5200 South.

The victim was taken to the hospital at about 5:30 a.m. Sunday by his girlfriend, the West Valley City Police Department spokesman Sgt. John Pittman said.

Health officials say the victim is expected to recover, adding that he is in a stable condition having been treated for a gunshot injury. He is however expected to undergo surgery.

Although Sgt Pittman stated that security cameras were not available at the USANA parking lot, detectives responded to the scene to uncover pieces of evidence.
