A violent car-theft suspect has been taken into custody in Salt Lake City.
Thursday morning, a man set the floor of a garage ablaze after discovering the garage was not locked. The man, who then went knocking at the home’s door to alert the occupant of the fire, allegedly threatened the woman with a gun after she had opened the door and stole her car.
According to police, the car was later seen in front of a motel.
Sighting the police, the man inside the car tried to escape by starting a fire in a garage and hiding under an SUV.
He was caught and arrested, police said.
Police are yet to confirm if the man who stole the car was the same as the one who was caught inside the car.
Investigations are ongoing.
