Surge in Covid-19 Cases, and the Flu, During Fall and Winter, New Models Predict: Dr. Says a Reason to be Concerned

by Kevin Woodward

There may be a significant surge in the number of COVID-19 cases spread across the United States over the concluding months of 2020, New models foretell.

Daliah Wachs, a doctor in Las Vegas, stated that this could be a reason to be concerned as both COVID-19 and the flu poses to be prevalent during the fall and winter.

He noted that their has been a decrease in the numbers during summer. However, fatigue has set in and people are now unwilling to stay indoors. They want to live. “They want to enjoy themselves”, he added.

He says quarantining and isolation buildup is making people go out and about. This, he emphasised, will result in trouble soon.

Dr. Wachs says there is a probability people contract both the flu and COVID-19.

Models from the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation predict that the surge in COVID-19 cases will commence in October and keep rising over the remaining months of the year.

The model also predicts a daily 3, 000 deaths by the ending of December.

It certainly does not look good.

On a final note, Dr. Wachs says that their is a bit of uncertainty as to if the cases will be  as dangerous, hence posing similar troubles for ICU or it will merely be an increase in the number of cases.
